Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Belnesto collects when you visit or buy from belnesto.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We are the controller of that information.

Belnesto, Gottliebenstrasse 6, 8280 Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. Contact us through our contact page.

What we collect

Information you give us: name, e-mail address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you provide one, order contents, and any message you send us. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment providers and are never stored by us.

Information collected automatically: device and browser type, IP address, referring pages, the pages you view on our site, and similar usage data collected through cookies and comparable technologies.

Why we use it

To process, ship and support your order; to communicate with you about it; to prevent fraud and misuse; to comply with legal and tax obligations; to improve our shop and product range; and, where you have agreed to it, to send you marketing e-mails and show you relevant advertising.

Our legal bases, where the UK or EU GDPR applies, are: performance of a contract for order handling, legal obligation for tax and accounting records, consent for marketing and non-essential cookies, and legitimate interests for fraud prevention and improving our service.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only for that purpose: Shopify (our e-commerce platform), our payment providers, our fulfilment and shipping partners and their carriers, our e-mail provider, and analytics and advertising providers including Google and Meta. Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where information is transferred out of the UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand or Canada, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

We also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims. We never sell your personal information for money.

Advertising and cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the shop work, remember your cart, measure how the site is used, and to measure and target advertising on Google and Meta. You can control non-essential cookies through the banner on our site and through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent checkout from working.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (up to 10 years in Switzerland). Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Other data is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Write to us through our contact page and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.

UK and EU: you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

California: under the CCPA/CPRA you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can exercise the opt-out on our data sharing opt-out page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Canada: your rights under PIPEDA and, where applicable, Quebec Law 25 apply, including access, correction and withdrawal of consent.

Australia and New Zealand: we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including your right to access and correct your information.

Children

Our shop is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Our site runs over an encrypted connection and payments are handled by PCI-compliant providers. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always the one on this page.
